
Sunday was a bloody day for the workers of Israel, with two workers killed and three others injured in work accidents. The workers’ death brings the total number of workers killed so far this year to 10, a rate of nearly one worker death every three days.
The two workers killed today, both around age 30, were killed after falling from the construction site they were working at in the central city of Bat Yam. Magen David Adom paramedics found the two workers without signs of life and declared them dead on the scene.
Separately, a worker around 35 years old was seriously injured when he was struck by a heavy object on a worksite in Netivot. He was taken to Soroka Hospital in Be’er Sheva to be treated for a head injury.
Another worker, around 45 years old, was moderately injured at a factory in Lod when a heavy object fell on him. Paramedics took him to the Shamir Hospital with injuries to the back and the abdomen.
At a renovation site in Jerusalem, a worker around 50 years old was moderately injured after falling from a height of about 30 feet. He was taken to the Shaare Zedek Hospital to be treated for multisystemic injuries.
