Emily Damari, the 29-year-old woman who was kidnapped from Kfar Aza on October 7 and released in January as part of the first phase of the agreement with Hamas, completed a series of surgeries on her hand and leg on Sunday. During the massacre in Kfar Aza, she was shot in her left hand and right leg, resulting in the loss of two fingers and additional injuries to her leg.
Today, Damari shared on social media details about the inadequate medical treatment she received while in captivity. She recounted that her caretaker, who called himself “Dr. Hamas,” informed her after surgery that “I was missing two fingers, and the wound in my leg remained open with four stitches instead of 16. Upon her release, she said, “the time has come to” receive proper medical care in Israel.
She added that she has come to terms with her injuries, stating, “I am proud of my disability, and with it, I will prevail.”
Hi X ???? thanks for all the love ????
On October 7 I was shot in my hand and leg, last week I finally had surgery to help the pain.
I embrace my hand, my leg and my scars – to me they represent freedom, hope and strength.
I thank G-d, the IDF, and everyone who fought to give me… pic.twitter.com/nfrNhtdBEV
