The Histadrut, the Ministry of Finance, the management of Haifa Marine Services, and the company workers union signed a new collective agreement last week, providing significant salary increases alongside a reduction of hours worked to employees of the company. The agreement will apply to all employees of the company, which manages maritime traffic and provides services within the ports of Haifa Bay.

This agreement is part of the adoption of key provisions from the 2023 public sector framework agreement. It will remain in effect until December 2027 and will be applied retroactively to all sectors within the company, including maritime officers, mooring and observation teams, tugboat crews, pilots, and management.

Eyal Yadin, chair of the Transport and Seaports Workers Union in the Histadrut, expressed his support for the agreement, stating, “I am pleased to announce the inclusion of Haifa Marine Services in the framework agreement. The employees’ wages and working conditions will be upgraded as a token of appreciation for their hard work and dedication. We are proud of the company’s loyal employees, who risked their lives during the war to ensure work continuity and the stability of the Israeli economy.”

Nir Eisenberg, head of the union’s Maritime Division, also congratulated the workers on joining the framework agreement. “This is an important step in improving the salaries and welfare of these crucial workers, who faced immense challenges during the recent security crisis in northern Israel,” Eisenberg said. “The agreement is the result of productive cooperation among all parties to ensure the success and prosperity of the company.”

The chair of the Histadrut’s Haifa District, Moshe Mizrahi, added, “I am proud and moved to be here today at the signing ceremony. Haifa Marine Services is an integral part of the region, and we will continue to provide service to its employees. The Haifa District is always open to all company employees, and our staff is at their service.”
