Families of hostages and activists calling for their release have been protesting outside the gates of Defense Ministry offices in Tel Aviv, known as the Kirya, for more than 48 hours. Demonstrators set up tents at the site on Saturday night, taking shifts to maintain their presence. The campaign aims to increase pressure on the government to strike a deal releasing all the hostages remaining in Gaza as another Israeli delegation travels to Qatar for negotiations and direct talks continue between the US and Hamas.
Einav Zangauker, the mother of hostage Matan Zangauker, led a morning run around the complex on Tuesday and announced she would do so daily.
During Monday night's protest, former hostage Ilana Gritzewsky rappelled from the Kirya Bridge over Begin Road and lit a flare to draw public attention. Protesters on the ground shouted, “You are not alone.” Demonstrators also blocked traffic on Begin Road during the protest.
