3% Annual Salary Increase: Food Tech Startup Signs Collective Agreement

A new collective agreement with management of Lycored, which joined the HIstadrut just months ago, promises a 3% salary increase for employees

Together with the Histadrut, workers from Lycored, an Israeli startup producing nutrients for dietary supplements, functional food and beverages, and nutricosmetics, signed a collective agreement with company management late last month. At the center of the agreement are an annual salary increase of 3%, an increase in the welfare budget, and an increase in pension contributions. It was also agreed upon that there will be an annual company vacation, expanded compensation for sick days, an increase in the value of holiday gifts, and company support for summer camps for employees’ children.

The agreement will benefit the Be’er Sheva company’s 130 workers. It was signed just a few months after Lycored workers unionized with the Histadrut, following a period of being represented by the competing National Labor Federation.

“The decision to unionize under the Histadrut was the best step we took,” Ilan Odiz, chair of the Lycored union, said. “Thanks to the full support we received from the Histadrut, we achieved significant achievements that will improve the working conditions of the employees for years to come.”

Odiz said that the deal represents management’s recognition of the workers’ “significant contribution to the factory’s success.”

Norbert Bokobza, chair of the Histadrut’s Negev region, described the agreement as “a significant achievement for Lycored workers.”

“I am happy that the negotiations were conducted with full cooperation between the parties, who demonstrated responsibility throughout the process,” Bokobza said.
