As Israel attempts to take out Iran’s nuclear capability and Iran retaliates with strikes on civilian areas, Histadrut chair Arnon Bar-David published a message of solidarity on the Histadrut Facebook page.
“In these complex days that we are all going through, we have a shared responsibility to protect the resilience of Israeli society and to ensure that no one is left behind,” Bar-David wrote. “The Histadrut, in cooperation with the state and employers, is working to ensure the continued functioning of all essential systems in the economy, and even to expand the support in accordance with developments and situational assessments.”
He expressed support for the Israeli soldiers and Mossad operatives working to take out the Iranian threat. “I wish to salute each and every one of them and to strengthen the government and its leader for the resolute decision to act in defense of Israel’s security and future,” he wrote.
Addressing the workers, he wrote, “I want to express appreciation and thanks to the tens of thousands of workers who are now on the frontlines of public service—including Magen David Adom staff and volunteers, firefighters and rescue forces, security personnel, property tax officials [responsible for assessing damage], municipal workers, and many others working around the clock, often at personal risk.”
“Tough days lie ahead,” Bar-David continued. “But as always, we will overcome them—if we act with personal and collective responsibility, listen to instructions, and show social solidarity. I have no doubt that together, we will get through this period, and together, we will come out of it stronger.”
