The Home Front Command announced yesterday (Monday) that normal activity will resume from 06:00 this morning (Tuesday) across the country, with the exception of communities along the northern border. In terms of the guidelines, this represents a return to the situation that existed before the escalation with Iran over the past 24 hours. All restrictions requiring the closure of workplaces and schools will be lifted.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a recorded statement that “the fire with Iran is currently contained, because they have ceased attacking us.” He added that if Iran resumes its attacks, “we will respond with force.”
The Ministry of Education announced that, in accordance with the guidelines, regular in-person learning will take place in schools tomorrow. Education Minister Yoav Kisch had said earlier today that Tuesday would be a “day of preparation” during which the education system would be suspended, followed by in-person learning in small groups (“capsules”). However, he later announced that if permitted under Home Front Command guidelines, the education system would return to normal operation as early as tomorrow morning.
However, the Ministry of Education’s decision not to hold the external matriculation (Bagrut) examinations scheduled for this week remains in effect. These include the matriculation exam in civics; the driving theory test for 10th-grade students; the physics research laboratory examination for students in the physics track; and oral matriculation examinations in English and Hebrew for Arab and Druze students.
