Israel and the world mark three years since the attack and massacre carried out by Hamas on October 7, 2023. Memorial ceremonies and events are being held across the country, along with protests led by the “October Council” calling for the establishment of a state commission of inquiry.
At 12:00, a moment of remembrance will be held across the country at workplaces, including local authorities, hospitals and high-tech companies, as well as at universities and schools.
This evening, the families’ memorial ceremony will be held at Hayarkon Park in Tel Aviv, led by the “Kumu” movement for the third consecutive year. The ceremony will be hosted by captivity survivor Eli Sharabi and actress and comedian Shani Cohen, and will feature many artists, including Shlomo Artzi, Gali Atari, Miri Mesika, Arkadi Duchin, Osher Cohen and Nunu.
The October Council said: “Today, we remember the dead and embrace the living. But precisely out of this pain, we say in the clearest possible terms: We cannot turn October 7 into a memorial ceremony without uncovering the truth. We cannot commemorate the murdered while burying responsibility at the same time.”
